Happy Three Year Blogiversary to Me!

I can’t believe that I have been blogging for three years! It has been a great experience sharing content, meeting new friends, and just discovering so many new hobbies and passions! To celebrate my blogiversary, I thought it would be great to finally have a professional photo shoot! For the past three years, I have been using my cellphone for all of my photos and videos! So, it was such a cool experience to have a real photo shoot and work with a professional photographer!

I hired an amazing photographer, Xiaopan Xue Photography, she did a fabulous job and I am so excited to share a few of the pictures in this post! I also thought it would be great to share 3 important things I learned from blogging over the years!

Thing One: Just go for it! If I had waited for the perfect time, and the perfect post, I would still be waiting to start my blog! I force myself to push “publish” every time I post! I am never sure if what I share is interesting, correct, or will be well received! However, I know that if I let FEAR stop me, I will never know success! So lesson number one is, just go for it! Start the blog, write the book, open your business, take the risk! It can be a little scary but, so worth it!

BONUS TIP: For all of my teachers out there who want to start a side hustle, my sister is a PRO! She can help you get started and she is an excellent resource when you are ready to “just go for it!” Checkout her website Kathe Michele-Teacherpreneur for a ton of resources and information, here.

Thing Two: Just be yourself! When I first started blogging, I looked at a lot of other blogs and tried to follow their style and format! I looked at fashion blogs, lifestyle blogs, home decorating, and food blogs. I loved so many things and I found it difficult to focus on one main topic!  I did my research and most experts talked about sticking to one thing and finding your “niche”! Well, after three years, I think I finally figured out that “one thing” is not my thing! I have learned that my passions don’t fit into one box! I have an eclectic style, I love to stay busy doing different things, and I have a strong desire to learn and share with others! So…that’s what my blog reflects! A mix of fashion, home decor, food, flowers, and a lot of fun celebrating life, embracing my age, and just being me!

Thing Three: Just remember your WHY! I started this blog as a hobby, as a way to get back to the creative things I loved to do… have I ever shared with you how I picked the blog name Kery B.?? Well, Kery is obvious but, the “B” represents several things: B for Billingly my maiden name, as a reminder to get back to those dreams I had before I was a Mrs. and somebody’s Momma, LOL!  B for Bonnie, my Mommy, who is my heavenly muse!  B for busy like a busy bee (hence the logo! ) and finally, a reminder to “B” true to myself, follow my passions, and the profits will follow! Remembering my WHY keeps me blogging and sharing the things I love!

Turns out my passion for flowers has blossomed into a little business! How do you like the bouquet I made for the photo shoot!?

I am having so much fun learning about flowers and sharing what I learn at my Blooms & Bubbly floral arrangement workshops! I am excited that so many are interested in my workshops and that my next session is SOLD OUT! I will let you know when I plan to do another Blooms & Bubbly soon!
