When you become a parent you immediately realize that you are now responsible for another human being. You are their everything and they look to you for unconditional love and guidance.
One of the biggest rewards of parenthood is seeing your kids grow up and accomplish their goals. This father’s day, we got the best father’s day gift ever- seeing our youngest son graduate from college! The road was not easy for him and there were definitely times when we wondered if he would make it but, he worked so hard and overcame all the challenges to make his family so proud!!
At the end of the day, you just want your kids to be happy and be able to take care of themselves. For our family, a big step towards that goal was making sure they all went to college! When you have three kids, you know that each one will be different and they will forge their own unique path in life. We instilled in them the importance of education and we are so proud that all three kids wanted to go to college and they graduated!
It truly takes a village to raise a child and we certainly have an amazing village of family and friends that supported us along the way. So when the big day was over, I could not wait to plan a nice celebration with family and friends! Here are a few highlights from the party and some of the cute graduation party ideas that I would like to share, enjoy!
Of course, I was most excited about doing the floral arrangements!! I wanted something simple and bright that would highlight his school colors. Sunflowers and blue delphiniums were the featured flowers. I used mason jars including the lids as frames for his graduation picture as the centerpieces.
Another cute idea was to use a square black canvas and a black cardboard box to make a grad cap storage box for all of the cards! I found this idea on Pinterest and it worked out well!
I think my favorite idea was to have thank you card envelopes ready for all the guests to self-address so that my son would be able to send thank you notes quick and easy! He really appreciated that, it saved so much time!
I decided to keep the menu simple and cater tacos with all the trimmings. We also had a variety of desserts. Thankfully, it was a nice sunny day so it was perfect for a backyard party around the pool!
Now that all the celebrations are over, we are still beaming with joy and we are ready to support our kids through their next phase of adulthood! We know that parenthood never ends but we are really enjoying our “kid-free” phase!
I hope you have enjoyed this post and I hope your summer is off to a great start! Until next time…
Stay busy being fabulous,
