My Word for the year is CREATE!

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and if you are like me, you are back at work and ready to take on 2019! If you have been following me for a while, you know that every year I do a vision board, select a word for the year, and a theme song! Well, this year I was really excited to get started with my vision but, it took me a while to select my word! It is always an interesting process that I go through reflecting on the previous year and thinking about my future goals. I never really know what I will come up with. It just seems to “click” and everything lines up to confirm my thoughts! This year, I was having a cup of tea and I decided to read the teabag tag. I really liked what it said and I shared it on my Instagram Story.

My word for the year is CREATE

The word CREATE really stood out for me but, I still was not sure and wanted to think about it a little more. One thing that helps me reflect is journaling! I have several journals and I write in them often.

My word for the year is CREATE

This journal is titled Amazing Grace and I really like it because it has a different Bible verse on each page! I always find that the page I am writing on has a message that is perfect for me in the moment! So when I read the Bible verse on the next clean page in my journal, the word creation just jumped off the page at me and I knew it was confirmation that CREATE should be my word for the year! From there, it was really easy to write down my thoughts.

My word for the year is CREATE

I wrote: My word for the year is CREATE! I will continue to create the life I want. I will create opportunities for growth in my business and in my personal life. I will be creative! If I don’t see what I want in the world, I will create it! I will remember His promises and know that God always keeps His promises. I will not give up on the new journey my husband and I are starting. I will support my children in creating the life they want as young adults and I will be present, enjoying each moment!

Here’s how my vision board turned out! I am already on my way to working on some of the goals! One is making additional income with my passion for flowers! So, I am having another Blooms & Bubbly on February 10, 2019. If you are near the Los Angeles area, I hope you can attend! Tickets are available on my Blooms & Bubbly blog page, link to tickets here.

My word for the year is CREATE

Sometimes, I question myself about sharing my vision and passions on my blog! I often ask myself if I am moving in the right direction? Is this platform helpful to others? After 3 years of blogging, I have had my doubts and thoughts about quitting! But then I meet someone who says, “Hey, I follow you and I really love your blog and what you share!” Or someone will message me and say, “Hey, I really enjoyed the flower arrangement class, I was able to make an arrangement for my mom with her favorite flowers and she loved it!” Or just when I was ready to quit, I got to meet one of my favorite actresses and after writing an interview/blog post and attending events, they asked me to be a brand ambassador for her new natural hair care line!

My word for the year is CREATE

I am so excited to work with Kimberly Elise and her amazing team! Her natural hair care line is fabulous! She will be hosting another event on January 18, 2019 where you can try her natural hair products. The event is free and tickets are available on Eventbrite, here.

So the message is DON’T GIVE UP! Keep going, keep pursuing your passions, and put them on a vision board! Oh, and don’t forget to pick your theme song! My song is Create in Me a Clean Heart by Donnie McClurkin. It will help me remember to walk in my purpose!

I hope you have enjoyed this post! Share your thoughts in the comments, I love hearing from you! Thanks so much for your support!

Stay busy being fabulous,

Kery B.
