Life Updates-What’s Up with Kery B.?

Hello old friend! I woke up this morning thinking about my blog! My blog is like that old friend you don’t talk to all the time but when you do…you can just pick up where you left off and talk for hours! Even though I struggle to be consistent with my blog sometimes, I want you to know that I really appreciate you reading my blog, watching my videos, and taking the time to comment on all of my shenanigans!  You are my “old friends” and it is definitely time to chat and catch up!  So grab a cup of tea…I have a lot to share!

So what have I been up to ??  I would say everything and nothing!  I’m just out here being busy, working hard, and playing even harder, LOL!  I have so many little projects and things that I have been thinking about that I just needed a little time to pull my thoughts together! So here are a few life updates:

I have been learning to breathe!  Yep, that may sound funny but, I have literally been learning to breathe… in my new yoga class! My word for the year is BREATHE…more details on that in another post!

I decided that a yoga class would be the perfect way to jump start the new year and my new focus! I started taking classes in January at Soul Play Yoga in Culver City– I found them on Groupon and I really enjoy the class! I have taken a few yoga classes before and thought it was time to get back to my practice!  It really helps me slow down, focus on my body, and yes, breathe! I am also reading a good book called Every Body Yoga by Jessamyn Stanley . Her journey is amazing and the book is very informative for anyone new to yoga like me!

I have been reading-well listening to books!  I love my Audible app!  I just finished listening to An American Marriage  by Tayari Jones. Loved it!  It’s a part of Oprah’s Book Club recommendations and it was a great story for so many reasons! Check it out!

I also listened to The Rooster Bar  by John Grisham- you can’t go wrong with a Grisham novel! Those lawyers are always so interesting!

Now I definitely need to start reading our book club pick for the month! It is called The Social Affair by Britney King, I could not find it on Audible so I need to get on it. LOL! Let me know what you are reading and any recommendations in the comments!

I have been hosting events and sipping wine!  The event I hosted in February was a fabulous Art & Wine Show! I have been working on a video of the event that I hope to post soon so stay tuned! It was really a nice event and shout out to the artist Shakir for his amazing work, more to come!

I have been eating too much!!  My husband has been cooking up a storm….I know!!!  Added bonus… his food is good!!  I think he has found a new hobby…Yay me!!  We also have been trying new brunch spots with my daughter, this delicious spread is from Barbara Jean on Melrose in Los Angeles.  So good, link to restaurant, here!

Checkout my brunch outfit! I was going for the hip casual, shabby, chic look! LOL! Outfit details: Duster/Pointelle -$20 at Q Fashion, velvet top- $25 on clearance at Madewell, jeans-very old from TJ Maxx and booties-had them for years from Nine West.

Last but not least, we finally went on our first cruise!!  I know, I don’t know why we waited 25 years to go on a cruise but better late than never!

Talk about eating too much, whew!! It was a short cruise to Cabo with family and friends but so much fun! Now we know that we don’t get sea sick and we enjoy cruising!  I am definitely ready to set sail again, hopefully next year! Now after all that eating…time to lose a few pounds (well maybe more than a few) So back to reality and back to counting my “points” and getting my steps in! The struggle continues, these “50 year old” pounds are easy to put on and tough to take off!  So here I go again… ready to push reset and start fresh!

Well… maybe after a little more great food, wine, and Jazz! Thank you for the long chat dear friends, it was nice to catch up!  Share your thoughts in the comments and  don’t forget to subscribe to the blog and YouTube channel so you don’t miss a post!

Stay busy being fabulous,

Kery B.
