It’s hard to believe that it has been two years since my big chop! If I had to describe year one in just one word it would be “discovery”. If I had to describe year two, it would be “powerful and versatile”…okay so I needed two words, lol! Powerful, because my natural hair journey has taught me some powerful lessons about patience, consistency, and being comfortable in my own skin. Trust me, when you cut off all but about an inch of your hair…you have no choice but to be confident and rock your look! By the way, this cute “Power Fro” mug can be purchased at I See Me Company, checkout their storefront, here.
While I still like trying new products now and then, I am no longer a natural hair product junkie! I pretty much have my go-to products that seem to work well for my hair. For a list of some of the products I use, go to my previous post on natural hair here. Two updates to my product list are: One, I found a natural color change shampoo that I use now instead of dyes and two, I use regular olive oil instead of the Jamaican Black Castor Oil. The color change shampoo is easier to use and the olive oil is lighter on my hair. I purchase the color change shampoo from Walmart online, here.
My other word was versatile! I am really having fun exploring different looks with my natural hair! From twists, to braids, to head wraps, you name it! I have enjoyed changing my look and trying new styles. Here are some pictures of my different looks over the past year.
I have to give a shoutout to my supportive husband who makes me feel beautiful no matter what my hair looks like! He is definitely a “Ride or Die” dude and I am so blessed to celebrate our 25 years of marriage this month! Can’t wait for our next adventure!
Stay busy being fabulous,
Kery B.

You are rockin’ the natural. I too did a big chop and it is a “jourhey”. I love the confidence and positive self-concept it encourages in me. Black women really need to remember how naturally beautiful we are!!!
