A look back at my natural hair journey!
It is hard to believe that it has been a little over a year since my big chop on August 30, 2015! There have been a lot of fears, tears, and twists (literally) along the way. Sometimes when I need a little motivation to keep up my hair routine, I take a look at my pictures and I am encouraged by the growth and improvement in the health of my hair. I found this picture of my hair a few months before I decided to cut it off!
I could not believe how thin and damaged my hair was from years of perms, harsh hair dyes, and heat damage. This picture really reminds me of my “why” and I think…you go girl! You have come a long way baby!
So for those of you who need a little encouragement to keep loving your natural hair. Remember your “why”, how free and beautiful you feel, and how much healthier your hair is! Now go ahead and twist your hair with your favorite music on and rock your kinky-coily afro or just rock that head wrap, LOL!
For more information, product recommendations, and tips on natural hair, check out my previous post on natural hair after 40, here. Also, there is a great hair and beauty expo coming up next month in Los Angeles and in March in Houston, Texas. It is the Afrolicious Hair & Beauty Expo, you can checkout their website for tickets and more information, here.
I will leave you with a little natural hair humor. Enjoy!
Stay busy being fabulous,
Kery B.

It’s very freeing, isn’t it? I’ll never go back to straightening.
