Yay! I am excited to share my first Work It Wednesday post for fall. September has been super busy so it feels great to get back to my Work It Wednesdays with this light and comfortable dress. I call it my Colors of Fall dress because I just love the burgundy and mauve color tones with a sunflower yellow pattern.
This is one of those times when I shopped my own closet and rediscovered this dress I purchased several years ago. It is by Trina Turk and I got it at Nordstrom Rack. I am not sure why I don’t wear this dress more often! It is so comfortable and easy to style. The colors are perfect for fall and the fabric is light enough for this transitional weather. I paired this dress with my neutral pumps from Ann Taylor and added a little gold necklace.
Sometimes the best finds are right in the back of your closet! Every once in a while you have to dig around and rediscover pieces that you have forgotten about. Stay tuned for more Work It Wednesday posts and a new Fall Fashion video coming soon!
I finally had an opportunity to take another sewing class! If you have been following my blog, you know I decorated a sewing space in my daughter’s room and took my first class last year. You can checkout my sewing room here. Unfortunately, I have not touched my sewing machine in months! So when my sister mentioned that she was taking a class called Sip and Sew with Stitched By Shay… I jumped at the opportunity! Continue reading →
When I went to the Loft website yesterday it said 97 days of summer! It was nice to see that reminder because if you go into the stores, all you see are Back to School signs and fall items already! I am not ready to let go of summer or my vacation yet, so it was great to find this flowery off the shoulder dress and this fabulous bamboo bag. This bamboo bag is perfect to carry all summer long and a great reminder that summer is still in full bloom! Continue reading →
Now that summer is upon us, I am thinking beach, vacay, outdoor concerts, barbecue, and fun in the sun! Checkout my picks for summer essentials for all of your summer outings. I call it-summer in a bag ! First, start with a great summer tote bag!
When I saw this dress, I immediately thought about Hawaii! I have never been there but, this tropical print seems like the beautiful flowers and easy breezy feel you would enjoy when you are there. I am so excited because my husband and I have planned our first trip there for our 25th wedding anniversary and our 50th birthdays! So I am starting to collect a few pieces for the trip. Color and Denim-Work it Wednesday!
I love this denim strapless dress and I crossed my fingers that I would be able to squeeze into it this summer, lol! I brought it on clearance back in January at White House Black Market with visions of wearing it on a warm summer night or to brunch with the girls. With the help of a good strapless bra and Spanx I am in…whoo hoo! Continue reading →
This week I pulled out my super bright Kate Spade handbag and my orange and white stripe top for a casual spring look! I think stripes and brights work well together when you are ready for some fun in the sun! The weather is so nice that it makes me want to head outdoors and just enjoy the cool breeze.Continue reading →
I love finding a great pair of shoes! When I am shopping for shoes, I look for the three C’s: they have to be cute, comfortable, and cost effective. Luckily, these black strappy heels with terrific tassels fit the bill! I found them at Madewell a few months ago on sale for $40.00. They were on clearance in late January which is a great time to shop! Continue reading →
My daughter loves the movie, Devil Wears Prada! So when I told her that I was going to feature this floral dress for my next spring post she said, “Florals, for spring…groundbreaking.” We both laughed because I kinda remembered Meryl Streep saying this with a very unimpressed look at one of her staff meetings. She was very hard to impress, LOL! However, even though florals for spring are not new, they are classic and often a great choice for spring! Continue reading →
