As a native of Los Angeles, California, I have had the opportunity to try some of the best desserts that LA has to offer! From Beverly Hills to the beach cities, there is no shortage of great places to eat and try different sweet treats! However, I have found that some of the best places to find a tasty treat are often not at fancy restaurants or the latest A-list hot spots. Some of LA’s Best desserts are right in your neighborhood or in places you may not expect! Here are a few of LA’s best sweet treats you may not know about!
First up, Harriet’s Cheesecakes Unlimited-1515 Centinela Ave. Inglewood, CA 90302
This place has been around for over 20 years and they have the best cheesecake in town! This small understated establishment is easy to miss if you drive too fast, LOL! However, don’t let the size of the shop fool you! They have 60 different varieties of cheesecake! From Key Lime Pie Cheesecake
to Banana Pudding Cheesecake
Or how about Snickers Cheesecake
Just to name a few! They are all amazing! So stop by and try this neighborhood favorite! The place is cash only! A slice is $6.50 and a whole 8″ cheesecake is $25.50.
Next up, Bludso’s Bar & Que-newest location at 609 N La Brea Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90036
Now you may be wondering why I have a barbecue place on my dessert list! Well, besides their amazing barbecue, Bludso’s has the best key lime pie I have ever tasted!
My huband and I love key lime pie, so we decided to share a slice after our delicious meal. OMG…it was so creamy, smooth, perfectly sweet, and the crust…was off the chain yumminess! It tastes so fresh, like grandma had just pulled it out of the “ice box” LOL! So next time you are at Bludso’s for barbecue, save room for dessert! I hear their other desserts are also really good too!
Next on the list, Tender Greens-there are several locations, click the link here!I love their Carrot Cupcakes!
When I go to Tender Greens, I am usually trying to be good and eat healthy! I have a nice kale salad and just water! However, just before you pay the cashier, at the end of the line, there are these beautiful carrot cupcakes!
They are so good! They are moist, sweet, and the frosting is delicious! So hard to resist! The last time I was there I was good and just snapped this picture without buying one. However, I am overdue for my carrot cupcake fix! I think this will be my 10,000 steps reward next time! Hey… a person can not live on kale alone, LOL!
Next up, Cobblers, Cakes & Kream-2323 W Manchester Blvd. Suite B Inglewood, CA 90350
Famously known as the Cobbler Lady- this place is a winner for cobbler! I have only had the peach cobbler but, I know they have other varieties and delicious treats as well! Cobblers are perfect to bring to a family gathering or picnic.
Trust me, you will be the “belle of the ball” if you come with one of these amazing cobblers and don’t forget the vanilla ice cream to top it off! Prices- a mini cobbler is $7 and a large cobbler is $39.00.
Last but not less, Pann’s Diner-6710 LaTijera Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90045 Homemade Sock-It-To-Me Cake
We are always excited when my good friend Diane brings a Sock-It-To-Me Cake to our tailgate parties! They are so delicious! If you have never tried a Sock-It-To-Me Cake you are in for a treat! It has a cinnamon swirl with a nutty crumble on top of this southern style pound cake! One slice is so filling! You can order a slice $ 4.19 or a whole cake for $ 24.99. Pann’s has been around for almost 60 years! This famous diner is a Los Angeles icon and has been a place for filming so many classic diner scenes in several movies! You can enjoy it’s good old school charm and dine in for breakfast, then take a Sock-It-To-Me Cake to go! Your family and friends will love it!
I could go on and on about tasty treats in LA but, I will stop here.! I am sure you can think of some other places in your neighborhood that have delicious desserts, so please share your suggestions in the comments! I will “roll out” pretty far for a good dessert, LOL! I hope you have enjoyed this “sweet” post!
Stay busy being fabulous,
