My Visit to Nappywood!

So what and where is Nappywood you ask??  Nappywood is a natural hair and lifestyle expo held annually here in Los Angeles! This past weekend I attended this highly anticipated event and I had a great experience!

This was my second year attending the expo and this year I decided to venture out on my own and checkout what was new in the world of natural hair and lifestyle.  I can tell you there was A LOT going on at the expo!  From powerful panel discussions on social media to a fashion show featuring African style fabrics and chic fashions with a vintage flair from several amazing local shops like Runway Boutique.  There was definitely something for everyone!

There was a wide variety of natural hair and skin care products featured.  Everything from local vendors to well established companies. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and willing to share great information and resources for healthy hair and skin.

The expo also featured local artists, jewelry, make-up, clothing, T-shirts, and more!  All of the vendors discounted their prices just for the expo!  One of my favorite vendors- Chikodi’s World featured handmade African purses, clothes, and jewelry.

She had some beautiful African designer bags for only $65.00 ! I figured if I can spend hundreds on name brand handbags, I can certainly spend that much to support our local businesses. Checkout the beautiful handbag I purchased! I can’t wait to rock it!

In addition to all the great vendors and information. I also received a wonderful gift bag filled with plenty of sample products, coupons, and resources. It was definitely worth the $15.00 cost for admission.

My only suggestion would be to come early and find a park on the streets. The cost to park at the venue parking lot was $15.00 and meter parking near by was only a couple of bucks for two hours.
