Traveling Coast to Coast!

Traveling coast to coast!  I’m back!! I have been away from my blog for a few weeks because I have been doing a little traveling! My first trip was to Arizona for a wonderful occasion…my daughter’s college graduation!!  So proud of my girl!

Proud parents!

I can’t believe how fast time flies!  It seems like just yesterday we were packing up the car to take her to college and now she is already graduating!  The graduation ceremony was wonderful! So many proud moments and it was great to share the experience with so many family members.

We really had a great time. It was like a little family reunion. We were able to use our timeshare and all stay together at the Sheraton Desert Oasis Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. I would highly recommend this resort. It was perfect for the family, the rooms were great, and we really enjoyed family time at the pool!

Arizona is really a beautiful place. The desert landscape was amazing and after a few days we even got use to the 90+ degree temperatures. It was great sundress weather!

The week was filled with graduation ceremonies, great food, hanging out at the pool, and we even got in a little shopping! We ended up going to this place called Last Chance which is the final clearance store for Nordstrom and Nordstrom’s Rack. The prices were great and the merchandise is always changing. Not sure if they have one in Los Angeles but it is definitely a great shopping spot if you are ever near Scottsdale, Arizona.

As soon as I got back from Arizona, I had to head to Chicago for a conference. I went from 90 degree temperatures to 50 degree weather the next day!  I enjoy traveling but, this was a little hectic! However, I did take a moment to admire all the beautiful flags at Chicago O’Hare Airport feeling very thankful that my flight did not get delayed and I landed safely !

Chicago is such a great city! This was my second time visiting Chicago. The first time was about a year ago for a wedding. On that visit I was able to really enjoy the city. My husband and I took a double decker bus tour which is really a great way to see the city for the first time. This time I was not able to do much, my days were packed with meetings and events.  However, I did manage to do a few things like: grab a Chicago dog, pick up some Garrett’s popcorn, and enjoy a brisk walk around a few city blocks. Okay… so I did checkout the two-story Nordstrom’s Rack! The shopping in Chicago is bananas!! Thank goodness I only had an hour to break away… you can go crazy on Michigan Avenue!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my coast to coast traveling snapshots. I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family and dear friends that have supported my daughter throughout her undergraduate years. Now on to grad school… and she is moving back home for a little while. So much for the empty nest! We are currently in negotiations over the sewing room space. I plan to win that battle!

Stay busy being fabulous!

You traveled to two of my favorite locations. I love the earthiness of Arizona, and the culture of Chi-town. Yum Chicago style popcorn…now I want some. Your daughter looks like your twin!

Yes that popcorn is delicious! I would call my daughter my “mini me” but she is so much taller than I am I just call her twin! LOL 😊
