First time in Miami

I recently had the opportunity to visit Miami, Florida for the first time. What an amazing place! The sun, the sand, and great people!  Even though the weather was rainy and cloudy for several days, it was still warm and the sun did come out for most of the weekend.  My hubby was able to join me on the weekend and we caught the Art Deco Festival. What a cool event!  It was located in South Beach right on Ocean Drive.  The music, food, and art was wonderful.  It reminded me of a combination of Santa Monica and Venice Beach with a cultural mix that was so cool.

It was easy to get around town in a taxi or Uber. My husband also took a guided tour bus around the major points of the city.  Tours are a great way to see a city for the first time.  You can often “hop on and hop off” tour buses for around $40-$50 per person for the whole day and usually for two consecutive days. They also have cool boat tours and share interesting facts about the city.

Delicious shrimp tacos!

I am sure the nightlife in Miami was great.  However, I must admit my husband and I can’t party like we use to. We are sleepy heads lol ! We did try an interesting restaurant one evening.  The atmosphere was pretty cool.
